Advantages and disadvantages of using glass as a building material

Cons:
1. Breakable
Glass can shatter into pieces easily if subjected to any kind of strain. These shattered glasses are likely to cause injury.
2. Absorbs heat
Glass traps heat in it, which later cause warming up of the interiors of the house. Hence glass is not very suitable for building material to be used in hot regions.
3. High cost
Glass is comparatively expensive than other building materials, which can affect the overall cost of production of the building.
